Mayor Evans announces Cool Sweep for Aug.16 due to high temperatures
In anticipation of forecasted high temperatures, Mayor Malik D. Evans announced today that the City will conduct a Cool Sweep operation on Friday, Aug. 16. City R-Centers, pools, Durand Eastman Beach, some library branches, and spray parks and features will be available so residents can remain safe and comfortable. Some locations will also have extended hours.

Rochester seeks vendors for upcoming Black Business Expo
The City of Rochester Public Market and the Friends of the Rochester Public Market are celebrating Black Business Month by hosting a Black Business Expo from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24 at the Market, located at 280 N. Union St. BIPOC-owned (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) businesses are invited to highlight their products and services and sign up to participate as vendors.

The final concert of the Bands on the Bricks summer live music series at the City of Rochester Public Market, presented by the IDE Family of Dealerships, has been rescheduled. Originally set for this Friday, the event will now occur at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 23, featuring Donna the Buffalo with Chris Beard as the opener. The change is due to significant rainfall expected in the area.
