Rochester's infrastructure projects have gained recognition at the American Council of Engineering Companies of New York 8th Annual Engineering Excellence Awards Gala. The event, held on April 5, 2025, in New York City, celebrated two projects for their outstanding engineering achievements.

LaBella Associates, D.P.C.'s State Street Reconstruction Project was honored with a Platinum award in the transportation category. The project involved street reconstruction and minor pavement widening on State Street from Basin Street to the Inner Loop. Additional enhancements included new sidewalks, lighting, traffic signal improvements, and various landscaping and drainage developments.

Similarly, the South Avenue and Elmwood Avenue Reconstruction Project, executed by Erdman, Anthony and Associates, Inc., received a Gold award. This project featured full-depth pavement reconstruction, the installation of a new cycle track, and enhancements for pedestrian crossing. A hydrodynamic separator was employed to manage stormwater runoff effectively.

Mayor Malik D. Evans emphasized the significance of these projects in enhancing safety and multimodal transportation in Rochester. “Everyone — residents and visitors alike — deserves to be safe when traveling in our community, whether they’re driving, walking or biking,” Evans stated. He attributed the success to the city's engineers, LaBella Associates, Erdman, Anthony and Associates, and all involved parties for their dedication to improving Rochester's transportation infrastructure.
