"I have been in regular communication with our local, state and federal partners in government as well as community leaders over the past week, working together in response to recent developments at the federal level."

This statement was made by Mayor Evans regarding the recent pause of federal funding. The mayor expressed his concerns about the announcement's impact on Rochester and important nongovernmental organizations that depend on these funds.

"I have grave concerns about the announcement regarding a freeze in federal funding, and the impact it will have both on the City of Rochester and on important nongovernmental organizations that rely on this funding to provide crucial services to our community."

Mayor Evans emphasized the need for clarity from the Federal government. "It is imperative that the Federal government provide more specifics so we can determine the immediate effects of this temporary freeze in funding." He assured that collaboration with partners would continue and updates would be provided as new information arises.

"We will continue to work with our partners, and will provide updates to the community as information becomes available."
