This week’s International Plaza Market Sunday will kick off National Hispanic Heritage Month. The event is part of the Rochester Fringe Festival and will celebrate the 3rd Annual International Salsa Day from 1 to 5 p.m., Sept. 15, 2024, at 828 N. Clinton Ave.
Highlights of this week’s Market Sunday include a community recognition honoring Marcos Santiago for his contributions to the Hispanic community, a salsa dance competition, and live music performances by Naomi, Orquesta Antonetti, Orquesta La Muralla, and DJ Julio Pabony “Mezclando.”
Managed in collaboration with the City of Rochester and the Ibero American Development Corporation, the International Plaza features a wide variety of food, merchandise, and entertainment highlighting global cuisine, culture, and heritage. Community-based organizations are also on-site to present information on services and resources available to residents.
In addition to Market Sundays, the International Plaza is open for lunch from 1 to 3 p.m., Wednesdays through Saturdays. The International Plaza season runs through Oct. 13. Free parking is available on-site.
Vendor spaces are available with rates starting at $20 per week. Discounts are available for multiple weeks and for the season.
