City residents are invited to learn how to access the many resources available through City Hall at Rochester Community University, a series of six workshops designed to help interested residents advocate for themselves and their neighborhoods.
“I encourage residents to register for Rochester Community University and learn about resources and the art of advocacy to champion positive change for themselves and their neighbors,” said Mayor Malik D. Evans. “Civic discourse is critical to building a stronger, more vibrant community; we all have a role to play in creating a city of hope where every resident has the opportunity to thrive.”
Participants will gain knowledge of the City’s comprehensive plan that guides Rochester’s growth, explore the wide array of offerings at City libraries, and learn about the range of services available through the City’s Neighborhood Service Centers. Additionally, they will receive guidance on addressing Rochester City Council, understand how legislation is drafted, and much more.
Workshops take place at City Hall from 6 to 7 p.m., Wednesdays, beginning Oct. 2. Applications are being accepted through September 16. Interested individuals can apply online at www.cityofrochester.gov/community-university.
