Mayor Malik D. Evans issued a statement on July 21, 2024, regarding President Biden's decision to withdraw from the national race.
"President Biden has delivered historic progress for America’s cities, and mayors have been critical partners in that work. Legislation such as the American Rescue Plan, and transformative bills such as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Inflation Reduction Act, and CHIPS and Science Act have greatly benefited the Rochester region. I thank the President for his service and look forward to the upcoming convention where our nominee will be officially selected."
