The final ROC the Block Community Employment Fair will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at Parcel 5, located at 285 E. Main St.
ROC the Block Community Employment Fairs are neighborhood-based hiring initiatives that connect businesses and recruiters with job seekers in a block-party styled setting.
Residents attending the event can explore employment opportunities and learn about community resources. Over 175 employers and agencies will be present, including Amazon, University of Rochester, and Auto Zone.
Representatives from the City’s Office of Management and Budget will also attend Wednesday’s Employment Fair as part of seven pop-up community events aimed at gathering input for the City’s fiscal year 2025-2026 budget. Mayor Evans plans to submit his budget proposal to City Council by May 9, 2025, continuing his practice of seeking public input early in the budget preparation process.
In addition to these pop-up events, the City has launched an online survey and will host a telephone town hall on Oct. 28. To participate in the survey or view the full list of pop-up events, visit www.cityofrochester.gov/budget.
The events are hosted by City Council President Miguel Meléndez, the City/County RASE Commission, and the City Department of Recreation and Human Services.
