(Rochester, N.Y.) — On April 24, 2023, Congressman Joe Morelle released a video from the Library of Congress marking the start of National Library Week. This week-long celebration is sponsored by the American Library Association (ALA) every April to help highlight libraries as critical community resources.

“This is an opportunity to honor the work of librarians and recognize the important role libraries play across the country—and there’s no better place to do that than at the world’s largest library, the Library of Congress” said Congressman Morelle in his video. “I hope everyone has the chance to visit the Library of Congress—and in the meantime, I hope you take time this week to visit your local library, pick up a good book, and celebrate the joy of reading. I know I will.”
