Five athletes from the Trenton and Pamela Jackson R-Center Boxing Club recently participated in the USA Boxing National Tournament held in Richmond, Virginia. Among them, Golden Gloves champion Algeria Johnson made history by becoming the first woman from Rochester to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Team Trials. She is also a titleholder in her boxing weight class.

Two of the club's boxers, Javier Mitchell and Dustin Jiminez, emerged victorious in their respective weight divisions at the tournament. Their success has opened up opportunities for them to compete in the 2028 Olympics.

Another notable performance came from Angie Miles, who placed third in her weight class at the national level. This achievement further highlights the impact that the Trenton and Pamela Jackson R-Center Boxing Club is having on Rochester's youth and young adults.

The club continues to celebrate its athletes' accomplishments and contributions to the sport of boxing.
