The City of Rochester Public Market is inviting local bakers to participate in its annual Holiday Cookie Contest. The event coincides with the Holidays at the Market festivities and offers amateur bakers a chance to showcase their skills.

Participants are asked to submit half a dozen cookies, along with the recipe, at the Public Market Office located at 280 Union St. N. Submissions will be accepted from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, and from 8 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, December 15. Each contestant is limited to one recipe entry.

On Sunday, December 15, starting at noon, a panel comprising local food experts and cookie enthusiasts will evaluate the entries based on taste, texture, originality, and presentation. Prizes for first, second, and third place include $150, $75, and $55 in Market Gift Tokens respectively.

Winners of the contest will be announced on the City of Rochester’s website as well as on the Public Market’s social media platforms.

Further details about both the Holiday Cookie Contest and Holidays at the Market can be found online or through updates on Facebook and Instagram.
