City offices in Rochester to close on July 4th for Independence Day

Rochester City Hall, Neighborhood Service Centers, R-Centers, Rochester Animal Services, the Rochester Public Market, Rochester Public Library branches, and the Honorable Loretta C. Scott Center for Human Services administrative office building at 57 St. Paul St. will be closed on Thursday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

The annual Downtown Fourth of July fireworks will take place at 10 p.m., Thursday, July 4, causing temporary street closings. The best viewing locations for the fireworks are the Court Street Bridge and the Broad Street Bridge. Free parking will be available in the Sister Cities, Court Street, and Washington Square garages.

The following streets will close at 8 p.m. and will re-open as soon as spectators leave the area after the show:

- Court Street from South Avenue to Exchange Boulevard

- Broad Street from South Avenue to Exchange Boulevard

Refuse and recycling collection will not take place on Thursday, July 4, and pickups will be delayed by one day for the remainder of the week.

The 311 Call Center will remain open with normal hours of 7 a.m. – 9 p.m., Monday – Friday.
