Representatives from Common Ground Health will deliver a presentation on generational trauma at the Thursday Thinkers: Insights into Rochester discussion forum. This event, in recognition of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Awareness Month, is scheduled for Thursday, June 20, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Trenton and Pamela Jackson R-Center, located at 485 N. Clinton Ave.
The session aims to educate participants on the intergenerational impacts of structural racism and cumulative trauma, their effects on community health, and potential solutions. Alia Henton-Williams, Manager of the City’s Crisis Intervention Services Unit—which includes the Person in Crisis Team—will moderate the discussion.
Thursday Thinkers: Insights into Rochester is a monthly adult-discussion forum held at designated City R-Centers. It provides residents with information about community resources and programs designed to support successful living. The theme for June aligns with PTSD Awareness Month.
