The Cool Sweep schedule for designated City facilities is as follows:

- R-Centers and recreation facilities: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday through Friday. Students will be served lunches, dinners, and snacks.

- Spray Parks: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Wednesday through Friday.

- Spray Features: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Friday.

- Library Branches: During this Cool Sweep period, the Arnett and Winton and Lincoln Branches will offer extended hours until 9 p.m., Thursday, June 20, and Friday, June 21.

Residents are welcome to use the remaining branches as cooling centers during their regular business hours. All libraries will be closed Wednesday, June 19 in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. For more information on other location hours, visit https://roccitylibrary.org/location/.

Residents are reminded to take precautions during hot weather to care for themselves and their families. For tips on staying cool, visit www.redcross.org/get-help/how-to-prepare-for-emergencies/types-of-emergencies/heat-wave-safety.html.

During a heat advisory, the National Weather Service recommends residents observe the following precautions and preparations: “Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. This is especially true during hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.”
