The City of Rochester and its Department of Recreation and Human Services today announced the grand reopening of the renovated Adams Street R-Center, 85 Adams St. Mayor Malik D. Evans cut the ribbon on the new amenities including a remodeled swimming pool, a new kitchenette, fitness room, and game room, among dozens of other interior and exterior upgrades. The center is now open 8:30 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Saturdays.

“This is about more than a building renovation—this is about the value we see in our city’s youth and families and the importance of giving them another great place to enjoy safe, healthy and productive activities just in time for summer,” said Mayor Malik D. Evans.

Among the City’s full suite of city-wide summer activities recently announced in the Summer R-Guide, the Adams Street R-Center offers over a dozen daily activities for all ages, such as SummerLEAP to stem summer learning loss for rising kindergarteners and Summer Play Days that engage youth in everything from crafts to field games and provide free breakfast and lunch.
