The City’s Rochester Animal Services shelter is seeking residents to serve as temporary foster caregivers for shelter cats and dogs. The shelter is at capacity and adoptive and foster homes are needed for pets.

The Foster Care Program is an opportunity for community members to provide love and care for pets as they await adoption. Serving as a foster home to a pet can last anywhere between one week to several months. Rochester Animal Services will provide all food, supplies, and veterinary care.

Rochester Animal Services has provided pet fostering since 2014 and recently restarted its dog-fostering program after a short hiatus.
