Hello, Avelo! County Executive Bello Announces Avelo Airlines to Begin Nonstop Service From Rochester to Raleigh/Durham

Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport (ROC) today announced that Avelo Airlines will begin nonstop service to Raleigh/Durham International Airport (RDU). With today’s announcement of ROC’s first nonstop service in 20 years to North Carolina’s Research Triangle, Avelo introduces a new era of affordable, convenient and reliable air travel from Rochester. Introductory one-way fares between ROC and RDU start at $39*. Customers can make reservations at AveloAir.com.

We believe that Avelo’s business model of investing in small, hometown airports fits ROC perfectly, and are excited about their potential to grow and add more nonstop markets to popular vacation destinations” said Monroe County Executive Adam Bello. “The addition of Avelo speaks to the strength of the Rochester economy, the attractiveness of the Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International Airport and the demand for more air service for Rochester passengers.”

Avelo will begin service at ROC on June 14 and operate this route to RDU twice weekly on Mondays and Fridays on Boeing Next-Generation 737.

Avelo was founded with a vision to help its customers save money and time. Since taking flight on April 28, 2021, Avelo has flown more than 1.8 million Customers on more than 15,000 flights.

In addition to offering customers everyday low fares on every route, Avelo customers can always change or cancel their itineraries with no extra fees. Avelo also offers several unbundled travel-enhancing options that give customers the flexibility to pay for what they value, including priority boarding, checked bags, carry-on overhead bags and bringing a pet in the cabin.

*Very low, one-way fares include government taxes and fees. Fares start at $39 between ROC and RDU for travel completed by September 6, 2023. Fares must be booked by March 28, 2023. Fares are available on a limited number of flights and seats. Additional fees for carry-on and checked bags, assigned seats and other optional services may apply.
