TOWN OF HENRIETTA: New York State online tool to help people struggling financially find services during the Coronavirus pandemic

Town of Henrietta issued the following announcement on Nov 18.

New York State has launched an online tool to help people struggling financially find services during the coronavirus pandemic.

Residents can fill out a short questionnaire about income, family size and employment status, that will help the tool provide a customized list of services that may help.

This website then links people to more information or applications for any programs or services that match the needs submitted in the questionnaire.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo says the need for social services has significantly increased across the state since April.

"COVID-19 has caused unprecedented demand for social services in New York, including families and individuals who have never relied on social programs before,” said Cuomo. "This new web application, the result of a public-private partnership, will provide New Yorkers with a user-friendly, stigma-free resource to get the assistance and relief they need."

The online tool was created through a partnership between the state and a team of 10 pro-bono Google.org fellows.
