GREECE TOWN: Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Celebrating the Completion of the Greece Public Library Main Branch Entryway

Ribbon cut

Greece Town recently issued the following announcement.

Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich was joined by Greece Town Councilmembers Josh Jensen and Diana Christodaro, Greece Receiver of Taxes Andrew Conlon, Greece Public Library Director Cassie Guthrie, and Assistant Library Director Keith Suhr for the Official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony celebrating the completion of the Greece Public Library Main Branch Entryway Project. This project is a culmination of several months of planning and work to create a new space featuring many needed updates for our patrons.

The past several months have seen many updates to the entryway, including a ceiling grid, brick work, new entry floor title and a new decorative metal roofing which will serve to marry the entrance with our new Children’s Room Expansion project. Highlights of this project include automatic doors to provide touchless entry and one way in and out travel for health and safety. The entrance portico makes the entry to the library more identifiable and provides covering over the sidewalk during inclement weather. The new LED lighting will show energy savings and provide much-needed illumination in the formerly dim lobby.

The new entryway area now features brand new public restroom facilities. The Town Historian’s Office has also been relocated to this area for easier public access right off the library lobby. Walking into the library, patrons will now see that new pillars and structural support have been completed outside.

“Roughly 300,000 patrons pass through the doors of our Greece Public Library each year and this number is trending upward” said Supervisor Reilich. “We are so excited to bring our library patrons this new and updated entryway space!”
