The second annual Oktoberfest at the Rochester Public Market will be held from 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20, at the City of Rochester Public Market, located at 280 Union St. The event will feature German music, dancing, and cultural offerings from the Federation of German Societies of Rochester. Rohrbach’s Brewing Company will provide seasonal beers, and Swan Market will serve German cuisine.

While Oktoberfest is often an adult celebration, events at the Market prioritize family activities. Beer will be available; however, there will also be activities for the entire family to enjoy. The City of Rochester’s Rec on the Move mobile recreation center and staff will offer activities for children. Traditional German musicians and dancers are scheduled to perform and encourage audience participation.

Oktoberfest is a collaboration between the Public Market and Rohrbach’s Brewing Company, a prominent presence in the Market Business District with expertise in German beer, food, and cultural traditions.
