More than 30 local leaders gathered in Rochester today for the ROC Resilience Roundtable. The forum, held in the city’s Northeast quadrant, was aimed at fostering unity and strategic action in response to national politics.
Mayor Malik D. Evans led the discussions, advocating for resilience against what he termed “manufactured chaos.” He remarked, “We must confront the federal administration’s overused tactics of deception, distraction, and division – and respond with truth, focus and unity. With resilience, we will thrive in the face of manufactured chaos.”
Attendees at the meeting included a diverse array of community figures, such as faith leaders, nonprofit executives, elected officials, and experts in law and advocacy. The gathering was marked by a collective dedication to addressing the real issues impacting the residents of Rochester.
Participants expressed their determination to resist being sidetracked by what they described as the Trump administration’s political maneuvers. Mayor Evans emphasized, “Political theater is a distraction to the real issues we face every day. We cannot allow political drama on the federal stage to interfere with our community’s momentum.”
