The City of Rochester’s Department of Recreation and Human Services is set to host a series of events for the city’s youth and families during the April Recess. From April 14 to 18, 2025, R-Centers across the city will serve as venues for a diverse array of activities focused on learning, wellness, and sports.

The schedule kicks off on Monday, April 14, with activities like “Easter Fun” at the Lightfoot R-Center and “Mindful Me: Yoga & Meditation with Cornell Cooperative 4-H” at the Ryan R-Center. A Youth Bike Repair Program and a Lifeguard Certification Class will also begin on this day, alongside the Biz Kid$ Camp for children aged 10 to 13.

Sessions for the Biz Kid$ Camp continue throughout the week. Tuesday includes open activities at the Ryan R-Center, while Wednesday features more structured events like “Easter Basket Making” at the Douglass R-Center and “Wellness Wednesday: Fun, Food & Fitness with Fidelis Care.”

Thursday, April 17, brings a Youth Wellness Summit and activities such as the “Sharp Shooter Showdown: 3-Point Contest” at the Ryan R-Center. The day concludes with an Easter Egg Hunt at the Douglass R-Center and basketball sessions under “Crossovers & Conversations.”

The week’s programming wraps up on Friday with “Building Stronger Families with Cornell Cooperative” and a highlight basketball game, “Legends vs. Rising Stars 5-on-5 Basketball Game (Staff vs. Youth)” at the Sports Complex.

Event registration is available through R-Central.
