Rochester was blessed to have a corporate citizen, philanthropist, and humanitarian like Nelson Leenhouts, who always looked for opportunities to share his blessings with the community.

Nelson provided some of the most vulnerable members of our community with access to safe, quality, and affordable housing, helping lift them out of poverty and giving them a foundation on which to build their lives—the foundation of a home. Guided by his vision and faith, Home Leasing Corporation—the company he founded with his brother Norman in 1967—became an essential strand in our community’s social safety net.

Rochester will be forever grateful for Nelson’s contributions, and I send my sincere condolences to his family and all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
