City announces R-Night Out series with diverse summer activities

The City’s Department of Recreation and Human Services is inviting youth ages 13-18 to participate in the R-Night Out Series, a set of free summer night events. These events will feature a live DJ, field games, a photo booth, carnival snacks, and more at the Rochester Community Sports Complex. Additionally, a special R-Night Out for individuals aged 25 and up is scheduled for August 15.

The series kicks off with Family Movie Night on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the Rochester Community Sports Complex located at 460 Oak St.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for safe and enriching fun during the summer months,” said Mayor Evans. “I encourage everyone to take advantage of this wonderful program, along with our many other youth, adult, and family activities available through our R-Centers.”

R-Night Out events will be held from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on the following Thursdays:

– July 11 – Family Movie Night (all ages)
– July 25 – Silent Disco & Carnival Games
– August 1 – Karaoke Night
– August 8 – Slip ‘n Slide Game Night
– August 15 – Adult Game Night (Adults only, ages 25+)

Attendees are required to go through a security scan upon entry. There will be no re-entry allowed and bags are prohibited inside the events; however, bag check services will be available. For additional information, email RcenterInfo@CityofRochester.Gov.
