Margaret’s journey through breast cancer brought numerous challenges, but she found a steadfast ally in her surgeon, Dr. Kristin Baltazar-Ford, M.D., who practices at Geneva General Surgical Associates, URMC Finger Lakes Health. “Dr. Baltazar was so encouraging and helpful in getting me through the emotional part, keeping me strong and hopeful,” Margaret shared. Reflecting on her interactions with other medical professionals, she noted, “Of all the many doctors I’ve been to, she’s the most compassionate I have ever dealt with.” Her primary care physician had assured her that Dr. Baltazar would be a supportive guide: “She told me, ‘You’ll be in good hands. She’s the one you want to help you through this.’”

Margaret hopes her experience will inspire others to prioritize their health by seeking early care and maintaining self-care.

The healthcare facilities in the region are committed to providing top-tier medical services from Rochester to the Finger Lakes and beyond. Collaborative efforts within these institutions aim to enhance patient outcomes by ensuring access to quality care when needed.
